Do you have off-shore facilities?

In addition to our domestic manufacturing plants, Wilson-Hurd is also able to source parts from our Asian Manufacturing partners. We use this supply chain for projects involving labor intensive assemblies and price sensitive components. For Asian supplied parts, we conduct final testing and inspection at our Wausau plant prior to shipping the parts to our customers.

At Wilson-Hurd, we are proud to offer flexible manufacturing processes. If there is a piece of equipment we don't have that is vital to your project, our production team would be happy to discuss your project with you to determine what solution we can offer.

How do I request samples of your products?

To request product samples, please complete and submit the Sample Request Form.

How do I request a quote?

How long does it take you to quote a part?

Due to the custom nature of our products, we are not able to provide a general time frame for quoting projects. Please contact one of our Business Development Representatives for an estimated time frame.

Is artwork required?

Artwork is not required. Our engineering and design teams would be happy to assist you in creating your artwork.

What type of artwork do you accept?

We accept the following file formats:

  • AutoCAD (2D)
  • Solidworks (3D)
  • IGES (3D)
  • STEP (3D)
  • DXF (2D)
  • Gerber (PCB) – include dimensional of your part in one of the other formats
  • Adobe Illustrator (Graphics) – include dimensions of your part along with embedded fonts or font files
  • Corel Draw (Graphics) – include dimensions of your part
  • PDF (Graphics or Dimensional Support) – with embedded fonts (Graphics)
  • Postscript (Graphics) – with embedded fonts
How do I submit my artwork?

Do you provide prototypes?

Prototypes can be ordered with minimal cost to you. Please contact your nearest Wilson-Hurd sales representative for further information.

What is the lead time for prototypes?

Due to the custom nature of our products, it is difficult to offer a general lead time on prototypes. Please contact one of our Business Development Representatives for more information.

What is the lead time for production orders?

Due to the custom nature of our products, it is difficult to offer a general lead time on production orders. Please contact one of our Business Development Representatives for more information.

How can I check on the status of an order?

To receive tracking information or an update on the status of your order, please contact one of our Business Development Representatives.

Can you ship before the scheduled due date?

Occasionally we are able to successfully expedite your order to ship before the scheduled due date, however we cannot guarantee an expedite request if the requested ship date is earlier than the quoted lead time. To submit an expedite request, please contact one of our Business Development Representatives.

What are your payment terms?

Our standard payment terms are Net 30.

Do you accept credit card payments?

Yes, we do accept credit card payments; however there is a 3% service charge.

Do you offer early pay discounts?

We do not offer early pay discounts at this time.

We specialize in Membrane Switches, PiezoPanels, Elastomeric Keypads, Capacitive Switches and Touchscreens.

What are your Electronic Control Product manufacturing capabilities?

We offer an extensive list of manufacturing capabilities for our Electronic Control Products, including product design & manufacturing, injection molded plastic, machined back panels, zinc & aluminum castings, electronics, vandal proof keypads, force sensing resistors, and backlighting. What types of Backlighting do you offer?

We offer LEDs, EL, fiber-optic, and light-guide film backlighting in our Electronic Control Products.

Do you manufacture both resistive and capacitive touchscreens?

What is the difference between a flex membrane switch, and a membrane switch assembly?

A Flex Membrane Switch is typically a printed circuit on a flexible material. It is the most basic type of membrane switch, and is an inexpensive alternative with long lasting performance. A Membrane Switch Assembly contains printed circuit boards or back panels, and is more suitable for harsher environments. For more information please visit our Membrane Switches page.

For Electronic Control Product orders, do I have to order prototypes or can I place a production order right away?

We strongly recommend that you order prototypes before placing a production order so that we can prove out tooling, and make sure everything has the proper fit, form, and functionality that your specific project requires. Are your projects safe to use in harsh environments, like extreme temperatures or chemical exposure?

We excel at challenging designs, especially those that will be used in harsh environmental applications. If this is something that your part would require, our team of engineers would be happy to collaborate with you to meet these specifications.

Do any of your products have a completely sealed design, in case of water or chemical exposure?

A number of our Electronic Control Products offer a completely sealed design, including Membrane Switches, Elastomeric Keypads, and PiezoPanels. Our engineering team would be happy to collaborate with you to meet any unique specifications.

If an assembly requires it, are you able to provide a clean room environment for electronic control products?

Do you test your products before they leave your facility?

Before your electronic control product is sent out to you, a final test and inspection is conducted to ensure excellent quality and functionality. Our goal is to provide you with an all-inclusive manufacturing process. For more information please visit our Quality page.

What if my part needs to meet specific standards, and requires a unique test plan to ensure product quality?

What materials can printed electronics be printed on?

What are the maximum dimensions you can print?

Our maximum dimensions differ based on which form of printing we are using for your project:

  • Digital Printing: up to 4' x 8'
  • Screen Printing: up to 30" x 40"
  • Litho Printing: up to 24" x 32"
  • Roller Coating: up to 24" x 60"
What is the maximum substrate thickness that you can use for Digital Printing?

Digital printing can be processed on a large variety of substrates up to 2" in thickness.

What if my product is large or oddly shaped, are you still able to safely ship it to me?

Our team would be happy to develop packaging that is tailored to your project's specifications to ensure that it arrives to you safely.

Can you blind ship my order to my customer?

Yes, we can provide blind drop shipping.

Medical Contract Manufacturing

What certifications do you have regarding your Medical Contract Manufacturing division?

We maintain an FDA compliant quality record system and specialize in Class II medical devices. This division has also obtained certification to the ISO 13485 Standard in June of 2014. What is the standard lead time for Nameplates & Dials, Overlays, Panels?

The standard lead time is 15 business days. For orders that need artwork approval, the order is given 12 business days, but it may be delayed depending on how quickly we receive approval. Orders requiring special material may have a longer lead time. Due to the custom nature of our orders, we highly recommend you contact one of our Business Development Representatives for a lead time specific to your order.
